Outdoor Movie Night! Wednesday, Aug. 6th, 7:30 p.m Yahnke Antique Green W6816 Village View Lane, Holmen
The Holmen Area Historical Society invites you to take a trip back in time to when free movies were shown outdoors in small communities all around the area. 7:30 p.m. Jean Marck will give a brief talk on the history of outdoor movies. 8 p.m.(or as soon as it is dark) a Woody Woodpecker cartoon will be followed by a 1940s newsreel. The movie feature, Road to Bali starring Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour will follow. Popcorn, cotton candy, Orange Crush, root beer, and grape soda will be available for $1 each.
Marie Dummer, historical society president, said that "in the spirit of the outdoor movie tradition, bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on and mosquito repellent." In case of rain, the movies will be shown indoors at the Antique Green. Free parking with rides will be available from the parking area to the movie site. The event is sponsored by Chuck Olson of Coldwell Banker/River Valley, Realtors; Kit Johnson of American Family Insurance; Holmen Hardware Hank; Holmen Pumping, and River Bank, Holmen.
